The Washington Literacy Center (WLC), founded in 1965, is one of the oldest adult literacy programs in the District. We serve adults who have the most limited reading skills, fewest job resources and greatest employment needs in the District of Columbia.

Provides one hour of instruction with a certified teacher in a small group class.
Fund a transportation stipend for 1 student each month
Purchases student materials for a ten month literacy course for a class of 5 students.
Covers the cost of basic computer training for 1 student.
Will provide career counseling for 2 students.
