More About Us
The issues of inequity in our systems for employment, education, health and food access, financial stability and opportunities for all to grow to the best of their abilities are not going to change unless we do the work. We encourage community members to be #DoMoreIn24 during Do More 24 on May 15, 2024.The ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) population represents the nearly 500,000 low- and moderate-income households in our region that earn more than the Federal Poverty Level but less than the basic cost of living for the county/state in which they live. United Way NCA's ALICE Lives Here initiative aims to reduce disparities in the areas of health, education and economic opportunity and improve outcomes for individuals and families in the National Capital Area.
During the day of giving, members of our community like you are encouraged to think about what they care most about; learn what others are doing to solve our region's most pressing social problems; and be a part of the movement to achieve a more equitable region.
When you give to United Way NCA through Do More 24, you are supporting our programmatic work in health, education and economic opportunity, providing ALICE with the resources they need for success.
We thank you in advance for your philanthropy and commitment to equity in the National Capital Area community!
