For Love of Children
For Love of Children (FLOC) provides free educational services beyond the classroom to help D.C. students succeed from the second grade through college and career. We envision a city where every child's potential is unlocked with a postsecondary degree, opening the doors to success in life. In just 28 tutoring sessions, FLOC students can gain a full grade level equivalency in both math and reading. Since 1965, FLOC has supported more than 10,000 D.C. students on their paths to success.
More About Us
At FLOC, we believe that education provides young people with the tools they need to transform not just their own lives, but the lives of their families and the communities around them.Yet, right now in the District of Columbia, just 75% of students graduate from high school. The transition back to in-person schooling last year revealed the depth of the learning loss caused by the pandemic. Students, particularly those from vulnerable backgrounds, have missed out on key educational milestones.
Your support is more critical now than ever before. Everyday, your generosity fuels programs that close learning gaps for D.C. students. You ensure that all FLOC students receive one-on-one tutoring from dedicated volunteers who care deeply about their education. This tutoring is always free-of-cost and tailored to meet each student's unique needs. In just 28 tutoring sessions, students can progress to a full grade level in both math and reading, setting them up for success from second grade through college and career.
Thank you for investing in D.C. students. Together, we can unlock the full potential of young people in the District.
